This is a big bowl for ramen soup, or other soups. Each bowl has different modifications to enhance its specialness. Some have little saucers for spices or a boiled egg. Others have a place for chopsticks, like this one. 

The glaze, which is rich in magnesium oxide, reacted with the red clay underneath to create a rich copper hue that shines in the light. This one has an amazing smudge where the handle meets the form.
