This earnest little bowl was the fifth in a set of a dozen tea bowls that I made in red and brown clays. I made this set to explore the way different glazes interacted with the clays, and also how I could modify the rim of the bowl to greater effect. This black glaze shrinks or 'crawls' as it sets, which give it a crackled effect.
