This piece was the first in a series of split forms I'm making. It was made from a single wheel-thrown pot that I cut in half when it was partly dry. I then switched it around and then re-attached it to itself, with rolled slabs forming walls at the sides.

 

I love how it's one form that became two halves, which make up one vase. I spray this iron-rich glaze onto the form with a straw, and faded it out at the base to reveal the natural clay.
